Ingredients
  

For the cheesecake mixture

  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened creamy texture
  • 1 cup granulated sugar adds sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract enhances flavor
  • 1 cup heavy cream, whipped to stiff peaks light and airy

For the strawberry sauce

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced fresh and juicy
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar for strawberry sauce, sweetening
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice adds brightness
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch thickens sauce
  • 1/4 cup water creates sauce consistency

For assembly

  • 1 prepared pound cake or angel food cake cut into cubes soft structure
  • to taste Fresh strawberries, sliced for garnish, adds color
  • as needed Whipped cream for garnish, enhances richness

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Mix the softened cream cheese and 1 cup of granulated sugar in a bowl until completely smooth with no lumps.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the cream cheese mixture and stir gently until incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until it reaches stiff peaks.
  • Gradually fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture using a spatula.
  • Prepare the strawberry sauce by combining 2 cups of sliced fresh strawberries with 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, and 1/4 cup of water in a saucepan.
  • Cook the strawberry mixture over medium heat, bringing it to a gentle simmer until softened and slightly thickened.
  • Let the strawberry sauce cool to room temperature.

Assembly

  • Start with a layer of cake cubes at the bottom of your trifle dish.
  • Add a layer of the fluffy cream cheese mixture on top of the cake cubes.
  • Follow with a layer of the cooled strawberry sauce, including some whole strawberry slices.
  • Repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used.
  • Add a final layer of whipped cream on top and decorate with more fresh strawberry slices.

Notes

Chill the assembled trifle for at least two hours before serving to allow flavors to meld. Use a clear trifle dish for visual appeal.
