  • 1 teaspoon vanilla flavor enhancement

Preparation

  • Place the sliced strawberries into a mixing bowl. Sprinkle the granulated sugar over the strawberries and toss gently to combine. Allow to sit for 10 to 15 minutes to release juices.
  • In a second mixing bowl, beat the room-temperature cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
  • Gradually incorporate the strawberry and sugar mixture into the cream cheese, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  • In a separate bowl, pour the cold heavy whipping cream and whip until soft peaks form.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the strawberry mixture using a rubber spatula, maintaining a light texture.
  • Taste the mousse and adjust sweetness or add vanilla as needed. Transfer the mixture into serving dishes gently.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one to two hours to set.

Notes

For best results, ensure cream cheese is at room temperature, avoid overwhipping the cream, and use fresh strawberries. The mousse can be layered in jars for an impressive presentation.
