For the Meatballs

  • 2 lbs ground turkey lean protein with a mild flavor
  • 2 tsp sesame oil adds rich, nutty flavor
  • 1 cup dry bread crumbs plain, provides structure and moisture

  • 2 pcs eggs lightly beaten, binds ingredients together
  • 1 tsp minced garlic for meatballs, infuses flavor

For the Asian Glaze

  • 2/3 cup hoisin sauce offers sweetness and depth
  • 1/3 cup rice vinegar contributes acidity and balance
  • 2.5 Tbsp honey enhances sweetness
  • 1 tsp minced garlic for sauce, adds aromatic flavor
  • 1.5 tsp sesame oil for sauce, adds complexity
  • 1 tsp ground ginger reinforces the sweet and spicy profile
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce provides umami and saltiness
  • 1 tsp sriracha sauce introduces heat

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F and prepare your baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or greasing it.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, sesame oil, dry bread crumbs, ground ginger, lightly beaten eggs, and minced garlic. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  • Shape the turkey mixture into 1 1/2-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Cooking

  • Bake the meatballs for 20 to 23 minutes until cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
  • While the meatballs are baking, prepare the Asian glaze by combining hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, honey, minced garlic, sesame oil, ground ginger, soy sauce, and sriracha sauce in a skillet. Mix thoroughly.
  • Heat the sauce over medium-high heat and bring it to a boil for about 5 minutes.
  • Once the meatballs are done baking, transfer them into the skillet with the Asian sauce and gently toss to coat.

Serving

  • Serve the meatballs over rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

Notes

Ensure the meatballs are evenly sized for uniform cooking. Adjust the level of sriracha to your spice preference.
