Brownie Batter

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Prepare an 8-inch square baking pan by lining it with aluminum foil and spraying it with non-stick spray.
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Cheesecake Filling

  • In a small bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy.
  • Add one egg and ¼ teaspoon of vanilla, and continue to beat until just combined. Set aside.

Brownie Batter

  • Melt the butter in a large bowl, and whisk in the cup of sugar and cocoa powder until smooth.
  • Add the two eggs and the teaspoon of vanilla extract, stirring until well blended.
  • Gently mix in the flour, salt, and chocolate chips without overmixing.

Assembly

  • Save about one-third to half a cup of the brownie batter, then spread the remaining batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.
  • Pour the prepared cheesecake mixture over the brownie layer and spread evenly.
  • Drop dollops of the reserved brownie batter over the cheesecake filling and swirl gently using a butter knife.

Baking

  • Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
  • Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center.
  • Once done, remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan.

Notes

Ensure the cream cheese is well-softened to prevent lumps. Allow the brownies to cool completely for clean cuts.
