Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened for moisture and richness
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar to balance sweetness and aid in texture
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, gently packed adds depth to flavor and moisture
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter provides richness and a distinct nutty flavor
  • 1 large egg binds ingredients together
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract enhances flavor
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour gives structure
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda acts as a leavening agent for a lighter texture
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt balances sweetness and enhances flavor

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Cream together until light and fluffy.
  • Add creamy peanut butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Blend well until combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

Baking

  • Scoop dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each mound.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden and soft in the center.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Make sure butter is at room temperature for easy creaming. Avoid overmixing to keep cookies tender. For a uniform size, use a cookie scoop.
