For the Chocolate Coating

  • 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips (semi-sweet, milk, white, or dark) Use high-quality chocolate for best flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Crisco (shortening) Helps to smooth chocolate and achieve glossy finish.

Preparation

  • Wash the strawberries thoroughly and ensure they are completely dried.
  • Lay the dried strawberries on a clean paper towel to absorb any leftover moisture.

Melting the Chocolate

  • Measure chocolate chips into a microwave-safe bowl.
  • Microwave chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each interval until melted and smooth, usually 1-2 minutes.
  • Add Crisco shortening to the melted chocolate and stir well to combine.

Dipping the Strawberries

  • Dip each strawberry by holding the stem or using a toothpick, and coat it generously in chocolate.
  • Allow excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl before placing on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Setting the Chocolate

  • Let the dipped strawberries sit at room temperature or refrigerate for about 30 minutes to set the chocolate.

Notes
