Batter Ingredients

  • 1 large egg provides structure
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted adds moisture
  • ¼ cup honey sweetness and moisture
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract flavor enhancement
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour structure
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed rich sweetness
  • ½ teaspoon salt enhances flavors
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, divided warm spice flavor
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar for topping and sweetness

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  • In a mixing bowl, melt the butter until smooth and slightly cool.
  • Add in the egg, honey, and vanilla extract to the melted butter. Whisk until well blended.
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, salt, and half of the cinnamon.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Stir gently until just combined.
  • Line a baking pan with parchment paper or grease it to prevent sticking. Spread the batter evenly into the pan.
  • In a small bowl, mix the remaining cinnamon with granulated sugar and sprinkle it over the batter.

Baking

  • Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake until set and edges are lightly golden.
  • Check doneness by inserting a toothpick in the center; it should come out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs.
  • Once baked, let the blondies cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for better blending. Store leftovers in an airtight container to maintain moisture.
