Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter and creamy peanut butter, then mix until very smooth and well integrated.
  • Add the powdered confectioners sugar gradually, stirring it in fully to avoid any dry pockets, until the mixture is dense and creamy.
  • Incorporate the vanilla extract completely.
  • Prepare your 9×13-inch baking pan by lining it with parchment paper and scrape the peanut butter mixture into the pan, pressing it firmly.

Chocolate Layer

  • Melt the chocolate chips or chunks in a microwave-safe bowl with an additional tablespoon of butter or coconut oil, stirring until fully melted and smooth.
  • Pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer and spread it evenly across the surface.

Setting

  • Chill the bars in the refrigerator until the chocolate has completely set.
  • After setting, lift the bars out using the parchment paper and cut into squares or rectangles.
